Two volume catalog set for the exhibition "Artists and the Book : John Ross and Clare Romano" held at the Rutgers University Libraries from November 2000-February 2001. The exhibition was spread across three galleries and two cities, and was the largest undertaken at the Rutgers Library to date. Introductions by Judith Brodsky. Contents: Books by John Ross -- Books by Clare Romano. John Ross is a graphic artist and maker of artists' books. He teaches printmaking at the New School. Clare Romano is a painter, graphic artist, and Professor Emeritus at Pace University. Both are recognized throughout the world as key contemporary artists working on paper. Artists and the Book : John Ross and Clare Romano provides a four-color collection of the artists' traditional book illustrations and limited edition artists' books. Included in this collection are mass distribution books containing illustrations by John Ross, as well as books designed, typeset, illustrated, and hand printed by Ross himself. Romano's book projects are the focus of the second volume of this edition. Artists' bios and exhibition histories are included at the backs of the volumes.
