From the sixteenth century onward, decorative papers have been used in a variety of ways including in book production, as end- and cover-papers, as back patterns for playing cards, and even as wrapping paper. This title is intended to introduce the historical and technical background to the subject and to the sample plates included in the text, detailing the major artists within the genre and some of their creations held at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Paste papers, dominotier papers, embossed papers, and marbled papers are discussed. Included are 32 full-color plates providing decorative paper examples. Also included is a letter of donation for the book from Anne Miniberg dated October 17, 2009.
