Green – New York / Paris Dialogue Paris / New York – Acknowledgments – Credits. The collaborative exhibit attempted to represent a broad range of possibilities in printmaking, new and old, and on a variety of surfaces. The artwork chosen spans printmaking from the traditional to the more unconventional, with techniques ranging from intaglio, lithography, and silkscreen to photo and digital processes as paper prints as well as on unusual surfaces and site specific installations. An attempt was made to stretch the boundaries of what a print could be. More than 18 American and 18 French contemporary printmakers are represented in the exhibit, as the exhibit served to highlight the role of the artist printmaker and the contrasts between the American and the French approach to the medium.
