Founded in 1982 as the Calligraphy Review. Name changed to Letter Arts Review in the middle of 1994. Published quarterly by Calligraphy Review Inc. (formerly Calligraphy Idea Exchange).
A review dedicated to contemporary and historical lettering, calligraphy, typography, and text-based art. Includes high quality reproductions not commonly found in local newspapers or in textbooks on the subject. The format allows them to offer a wide range of materials to meet the needs of a diverse audience. The journal sponsors an annual competition to provide a chance for the anonymous calligrapher to compete in an international juried selection process whose purpose is the recognition of excellence in letterforms, design, and layout.
