Description:Published "four or so" times a year as a short newsletter for The Friends of the Center for the Book at the University of Iowa Center for the Book. 'Counter' refers to the space within a piece of type, as in the center of the letter 'O'. Counter was in production from 1994 through Winter 2001. Several issues have introductions from the Center of the Book's director and founder Kim Merker and documents the effect on the Center when he was taken ill with a stroke.
