It was published by The Center for Calligraphic Arts from 1984 until ceasing publication with v. 15, no. 6 (Nov.-Dec. 1998). Within the Journal there are sections that concern book reviews, current events, traveling teachers, editorials, and letters to the editor. Each issue has a special topic covered.
