Bound & Lettered has been published quarterly since 1999. It was previously titled Tabellae Ansatae from 1999 through 2007 when it was renamed. It continues to be published. Bound & Lettered has been edited (in chronological order) by Amanda Trice, Rebecka Fair, and Paul McNeill and published by John Neal in association with the Letter Arts Book Club, Inc. Bound & Lettered contains how-to articles, reviews of exhibitions, discussions of techniques, featured artists' works and favorite tools. The publication relies on its readers for submissions and ideas. "Bound & Lettered was originally founded by Shereen LaPlantz, author of Cover to Cover and The Art & Craft of Handmade Books. Shereen created the magazine to serve as a source of inspiration and information for book artists. When she later became ill with cancer John Neal, Bookseller agreed to continue to publish her magazine.
