Originally published as Journal de l'association des relieurs du Quebec then as Le Journal and then as Binders and Papers until ceasing publication completely in 1998. Le Journal was published quarterly since 1985 and changed sizes from being 22 cm in height to 28 cm. Another significant editorial change was in 1989 when Le Journal ceased to be a bilingual publication with articles written in both French and English, and continued on as a French only publication. Le Journal contained articles dealing with art, conservation, restoration and archival aspects of book binding. Binding techniques were often described and illustrated.
