Journal of the Print World is a quarterly publication printed on newsprint and started in 1978 in New Hampshire. The publication boasts a large number of articles and a large number of advertisements. In 2010 Charles Stuart Lane sold the Journal to Consilience Consulting, a software and book publishing company based in Gilmanton, New Hampshire.
The editorial policy printed on the second page states, "The Publishers of Journal of the Print World have established the periodical to bring information of the print world to the collector, buyer, and seller concerning all forms of original prints. Information concerning sales, auctions, galleries, shows, mail order catalogues, antique shops selling prints, and museum and library shows has not been readily available in these areas."
The description of the current editorial leanings of the still ongoing publication are as follows:
"Look for articles announcing and reviewing museum and gallery
shows on rare prints, watercolors, photographs, and other works
of art on paper; announcements of Fine Print Fairs, Art
Expositions, and Antique Shows throughout the world; original
articles on the style and intent of the Old Masters, contemporary
artists, ateliers, and the avant garde; and the latest book
reviews." - Journal of the Print World
