Description:The Paper Road Tibet Newsletter gives updates on this non-profit paper project in Tibet written by educators teaching papermaking in Tibet. Most information about the Paper Road/Tibet project appears to be from 1995-2000 although it is unclear if and when it has ceased. "The Paper Road/ Tibet project has three main goals, collectively referred to as our Three R's. We work to revitalize the tradition of hand papermaking in Tibet; introduce and encourage new methods of recycling clean wastepaper; and research the history of papermaking in Tibet. We are in partnership with the Jatsun Chumig Welfare Special School in Lhasa. This school houses and educates orphaned and disabled children, and provides vocational training in traditional crafts.
