Essay on the subject of fibre flax culture. Includes a paper sample that was handmade from fibre flax grown near Blyth and Stratford, Ontario and processed by hand. The paper was handmade using a medieval form of deckle mould by Helmut Becker. The title covers seed determination, planting, and harvesting of the flax. Also covered is the process of separating the fibre from the stalk, and cleaning the fibre. Included at the back of the book is a 4 page article about handmade papermaking for the fine arts by Helmut Becker, Department of Visual Arts, The University of Western Ontario.
