Letters from New York is a series of small books published as a journal by the Society of Scribes, Ltd. The series began circa1995/96, and appears to have ceased publication in 2006. The Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of calligraphy & related arts. The initial intent was for two volumes to be published annually, though by issue 5, the series was being produced every 9 months. Each volume is an anthology of articles about lettering and related arts. As of 2013, there were 5 issues published. The title is edited by Christopher Calderhead and Holly Cohen.
