The New Bookbinder has been published annually since 1981, and is the journal of Designer Bookbinders. Content includes bookbinder interviews; essays on bookbinding techniques; conference reports; library and museum binding examples; and articles on related techniques such as marbling paper, gilding, and book-edge decoration.
This 30th anniversary volume is devoted to "celebrating the art of paper in bookbinding". Articles cover topics such as flexible bindings, creating pop-up books without folds, the art of paper decoration, recent bindings, and the Linnaean Correspondence Project, among others. Full-color illustrations of techniques are included throughout, and detailed notes on the contributors are located at the end of the text.
