Exhibition catalogue. Two-thirds of the exhibition represents works by Lucas van Leyden, many of them rare examples of the highest quality of these prints. Although his work is scarce, van Leyden was considered the most influential and important graphic artist working in the Netherlands in the early 16th century and was compared to his German counterpart, Albrecht Dürer.
Engravings, woodcuts and prints are represented, as well as the work of his Netherlandish contemporaries.
