Catalogue published in conjunction with a travelling exhibition of Medical Prints has been assembled from works in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
"Ars Medica aims to portray, in a nutshell, the essential aspects of medical iconography, as they have been reflected in graphic art through the ages. Each print was chosen not only for its quality as a work of art but also for its story-telling value, to illustrate the various categories of medical history and practice... a happy conjunction of fine art with the Healing Arts." (Carl Zigrosser, p. [5])
