First Impressions provides a fascinating new viewpoint on contemporary American printmaking. Surveying the work of forty-six painters and sculptors whose contributions to printmaking are widely known, it concentrates on each artist's graphic efforts. Artists surveyed include Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Susan Rothenberg, Eric Fischl, Jennifer Bartlett, and Richard Bosman.
