Bright Hill Press
Bright Hill Press is located in Treadwell, New York. Bright Hill Literary Center was begun in 1992, as Word Thursdays, the Catskills reading series. It later incorporated Bright Hill Press, which publishes poetry and interdisciplinary art. The organization offers literary workshops for kids and adults. Its gallery, the Word & Image Gallery, presents interdisciplinary exhibits for several months of the year. "Book Arts is the perfect fit for Bright Hill's Word and Image Gallery, and for our mission, which reads 'To seek out, study, and collect the work of early and contemporary writers, storytellers, and artists, and to publish, disseminate, and present that work through publications and educational and public programs for the larger community." This exhibition catalog for the year 2004 documents "the images recalling the show, the words of these very articulate artists allowing us to share in their process, and their biographies and pictures helping to explain how they "do" what they "do so well."" --taken from the Introduction written by Bertha Rogers.
