"The Art Department of Drake University is delighted to present this exhibition of prints by the faculty of the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia. The exhibition is the first in a new series of exchanges between the Venetian printmaking school and the printmakers, art schools, museums and galleries of Iowa. The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica, founded in 1969, is located on the Grand Canal in Venice, at Santa Croce, Calle della Regina 2213. In its superbly equipped studios the school's fourteen faculty artists offer year-round courses in all printmaking areas, with an emphasis unique in Europe on experimental printmaking. Also taught are graphic design, handmade artists' books, and the history of prints. Guest artists of international stature, such as Stanley William Hayter (d. 1988) and Henri Goetz (d. 1989) and Clare Romano are hosted frequently and exchanges with artists and art schools of other countries are a priority. The school has established relationships and has participated in exchanges with artists and schools in France, Spain, Germany, Greece, Yugoslavia, Poland, the U.S., Brazil, Cuba, and Argentina." -- Taken from the Introduction, page 1.
