Woodcuts illustrate twenty-three original fables/stories-in-verse featuring a wide variety of animals, both wise and foolish. "One hundred fifty copies of this book have been printed on American etching paper. The type is Garamond, set by hand. The illustrations are cut in wood and printed from the blocks. Each copy is bound by hand. This is copy number 131"--colophon, signed by the artist.
