Canaletto completed the 38 views in 1735 and the engraving reproductions are taken from their original 1742 publication various titled 'Prospecti Magni Canalis Venetiarum...' and 'Urbis Venetiarum Prospectus Celebriores...". This work includes an introduction and descriptive texts by J.G. Links and a map.
