Brochure for "Kitty Maryatt: Interrogating Book Structure" an exhibition on view at the Center for Book Arts October 3 - December 15, 2012. Organized by Alexander Campos, Executive Director of the Center for Book Arts. CBA has two copies.

"Each year, the Center invites one artist/instructor from outside New York who has achieved prominence as a book artist to teach a master class and give a lecture at the Center. We are pleased to announce that the 2012 Master Faculty Fellow is Kitty Maryatt.
"Kitty Maryatt is Director of the Scripps College Press and Assistant Professor of Art at Scripps College in Claremont, California. She has taught Typography and the Book Arts at Scripps for 26 years. In this bookmaking class, the students write their own stories, develop imagery, hand-set metal type, print the collaborative books by letterpress, bind them in limited editions of about 100 copies and sell them. They have published 52 titles to date and have 56 standing order patrons. She also teaches a Core Humanities class to sophomores called From Materiality to Immateriality: The Coming of the Artist Book.
Kitty owns Two Hands Press in Playa Vista, where she designs and prints books and produces bookbindings for clients as well as continuing her calligraphic work. She also makes her own one-of-a-kind books. She is VP for Programs for APHA (American Printing History Association) and is on the Board of Directors for CBAA (College Book Art Association) and is a founder of the Society for Calligraphy in Los Angeles." -- description from the Center for Book Arts
