Heather Weston
Box with foam cut to house four book works, entitled Flip Read, Grey Matter, Shedding Light, and Paper Cut, and an accordion booklet describing the collection.

From the artist: "A collection of bookworks created in response to the complex and subjective experiences we process via our bodily senses. In the sensory overload encountered in contemporary life, it is not enough simply to experience these sensory moments, but instead it seems imperative to understand and challenge our reading of them."

Flip Read is a small post-bound flip book depicting a person speaking and a sentence about lip reading.

Paper Cut: Relief is a hardcover accordion book with a foil-stamped band around it. It explores the subject of self-harm.

Grey Matter: Arguing with Descartes is an accordion book with bound sections in a gray debossed leather envelope/slipcase.

Shedding Light is an accordion book in braille. It has a felt cover with a pocket holding a small folded sheet providing the braille alphabet printed for sighted readers. The braille text is also printed in mirror on the back of the pages so when held up to the light, sighted readers can read the text along with the braille.

Edition of 150.
